At NLCDC we seek to provide a secure environment to strengthen the values of individuals and families. We accomplish this through carefully constructed programs designed to assist our clients to better realize their potential and live their dreams. Seeking independent or family support does not have to be a source of anxiety. With our staff of certified counselors, we offer an array of programs that will assist you in your specific situation.

 

We help create sustainable communities by combining HUD Approved Education and Developing affordable housing for families.

We are transforming lives, renewing mindsets, restoring dignity and hope throughout Atlanta and the Southern region.

 

NLCDC sees counseling as the path to financial security, our goal is to significantly boost sustainabliity among the nation’s most underserved — women, minorities and families of modest means.

 

We acquire forceclosed properties which are vacant, boarded up or vandalized, rehabilitate them and return them to productive use.

With the creation of AHOP(Affordable Home Ownership Program) our in-house owner finance model we remove insurmountable barriers to safe and affordable housing. Now homeownership can be a reality to individulals who may not be able to obtain traditional bank financing.

 

We strive to create and preserve housing affordability; promote sustainable homeownership and help prevent homelessness. The final outcome will be enhanced neighborhood viability.

Foreclosure Prevention

We provide you with the resources, education, and guidance to assess your financial situation to assist you in working with your lender to save your home. Because each homeowner has a unique situation, we cannot guarantee that we can save your home. However, a NLCDC housing counselor will work with you to help guide you through your options and find the best resolution for you and your family.

 

Homebuyer Education

We offer 2 learning methods, classroom style and online sessions. Home ownership is attainable with the just the right amount of coaching. It has become evident that many potential homeowners never begin the process because of lack of information, misinformation or the presence of real or perceived purchasing obstacles. We help our new homeowners remove all obsticles and create the opportunity for success. This program includes the HUD 8 hour Homebuyer Education Workshop, and Credit and Budget Classes.

 

Bankruptcy Counseling

Offers clients the opportunity to complete Pre- and Post-Filing Bankruptcy Counseling in a group session, by phone or online.

 

NLCDC has approval from the Executive Office for United States Trustee (EOUST) to issue certificates evidencing completion of a personal financial management course in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code. Approval does not endorse or assure the quality of a provider's services.
